About Adam Colton
Adam Colton is a British sculptor and illustrator who has lived and worked in the Netherlands since 1981. Colton is known for his innovative approach to sculpture, combining traditional techniques with modern materials. He emphasizes the importance of exploring ‘flat space’ in his work and how he pushes the boundaries of extremes to balance lightness and heaviness. In his work, Colton continues to explore the boundaries of form and material, inviting the viewer to look at sculptural forms in a new way. During ARTZUID, Colton presents Shift, a transparent convex hollow circle within a square plane. In 1987, Colton received the Charlotte van Pallandt Prize for sculpture.
