About Katleen Vinck
Katleen Vinck moves on the border between visual arts, architecture and scenography. Her sculptures resemble scale models, but function as autonomous thought models: abstract forms that investigate an idea, rather than being a direct representation. From her studio in Antwerp, she investigates how archetypal structures – caves, hills, trees – are translated into architecture by humans. How are natural forms copied, manipulated, perfected? How does a landscape change into a construction? Her work is an investigation into transformation, into hybrids between nature and construction. The materials she uses, such as concrete and clay, seem cold and silent at first glance, but carry an invisible energy within them. What Vinck wants to show is not the loss, but rather the beauty of the temporary. At ARTZUID 2025, Vinck shows a new work Bloc’s Party.
