About Natasja Alers
Lotta Blokker studied classical sculpture in Florence for seven years. The long-term, extreme dedication and extreme precision with which she models her sculptures, result in her sculptures being more than realistic. She is fascinated by the fundamental loneliness of people. Lotta Blokker knows how to capture emotions for which there are no words anymore. They circle around the consciousness and experience of being a human being and having to make do with it. Being there, living, living in time, it is a reality that is incomprehensible and yet is constantly realised. At ARTZUID she shows Silhouette II, a woman alone in a sleeping position. The sculpture evokes a feeling that everyone can relate to.
